The Merchant Building consists of an entire block at the strategically important corner of High Street and Trongate in Glasgow.

Compromising of 178 residential apartments,20,000 square feet of commercial space and an underground car park of 124 spaces this project was activated by Glasgow Edinburgh Developments Associated company Alba Town Limited.

Work commenced in 2005 by Ogilvie Construction with the architects being Gholami Baines and funding provided by RBS. With completion of the main phase in 2007 and the final smaller phase in 2009 the apartments contained within have set a new bench mark in the area for size and style.

Resale values remain high and the project has proved very successful for renting being popular with professionals from both within the city area and further afield.
